MODEL SCHOOL
The GETSA Model School has since 1998 been set up to provide a world-class service with modern teaching and learning resources in the right environment that offers holistic education for her learners. It is registered under the Ghana Education Service (GES), and runs on a curriculum provided by the GES. The school was born out of etoys and more, which is the leader in children’s education and skills development. Its goal is to provide technological solutions to children's educational needs. The school currently admits children from ages 3 through 15, running classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Junior High School.
Ghana’s educational system has long been hampered by an acute lack of resources, leaving its graduates ill-equipped for life after school. The GETSA Model School, in its small way, seeks to curb this trend by providing adequate resources to help each child reach their potential. No two children are alike. Some struggle with school while others just aren’t challenged enough. Some know the material but freeze during tests. Others get frustrated with homework. The GETSA Model School offers personalized programs for every child, in every grade. They provide programs to meet every need, from essential skills such as Math, Reading and Writing, to programs that help your child enjoy learning and prepare for tests. Each program is customized to help your child develop skills to master new challenges with confidence. Programmes like these are a far cry from what pertains in many of Ghana’s public schools, where virtually no personalized attention is given to children.
Other programmes specially aimed at children with special needs have also helped to incorporate such children into the school system. The school provides skilled teachers to work with special needs children in formal classes, so they can offer skilled attention to these ones in the same environment as their peers.
The GETSA Model School also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to broaden the scope of learning and play. Some extracurricular activities currently on offer include e-learning, salsa dancing, piano and guitar lessons, swimming etc. This approach to education will help students develop a wide range of interests, hopefully broadening their perspectives to aid their transition into life after school.
