Lawyer
The Lawyer will provide expert legal support and advice to clients. He or she will take instructions from clients and advise on necessary courses of legal action.

- The work of the lawyer includes but is not limited to:
- Meeting and interviewing clients to establish the firm's suitability to provide the necessary advice and services, based on the firm’s specialism and likely cost;
- Taking a client’s instructions;
- Advising clients on the law and legal issues relating to their case;
- Drafting documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client’s individual needs;
- Researching and analyzing documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure;
- Attending meetings and negotiations with opposing parties;
- Acting on behalf of clients in disputes and representing them in court along with an in-house lawyer, if necessary;
- Preparing papers for court;
- Any other tasks assigned by Managing Partner.
Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of your placement;
- You must have a reasonable background and/or interest in criminal law;
- You must provide a detailed report at the end of your placement, outlining your entire experience to aid future interns and volunteers;
- You must be open minded, ready to face the challenges and obstacles you encounter;
- You must be hardworking and driven, especially when your placement gets hectic.
